"Classic Wheels" 2017 at Skegness Water Leisure Park - home of the LCLR.

The annual Skegness Water Leisure Park "Classic Wheels" car show was earmarked for the return to scheduled services for our Peckett 0-6-0 steam locomotive following its restoration. As the picture shows there were many visiting vintage vehicles and lots of visitors.

"Jurassic" at Walls Lane station ready to depart.

Long serving Mick Allen on the footplate awaiting departure.

Our diesel locomotive piloted the train in a top & tailed formation for the outward journey.

This was uncoupled at South Loop and the return journey was 100% steam hauled!

The train on the outward journey, nearly at South loop.

The train at South loop, awaiting detachment of diesel "Wilton". The extension to the running line can be seen on the right.

Now in sole charge of the train, "Jurassic" makes easy work of the two carriages as it turns onto Drainside straight.

Rounding the curve behind the hangar, the train approaches Walls Lane.

An earlier departure from Walls Lane about to disappear around the corner behind the airfields hangar. Loco shed in background.

A record number of passengers were carried on this day - We hope that 2018 will continue this upward trend in visitor numbers.

A news crew from BBC Look North (Yorks & Lincs) visited and took much footage.

Tractors and trains.

A really good day out in sunny Skegness - looking forward to next years show.
