Welcome To Our Railway

Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway, Skegness Water Leisure Park,     Walls Lane, Ingoldmells, Skegness, PE25 1JF

The Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway (LCLR) is a 60 cm narrow gauge heritage railway situated in Skegness on the beautiful Lincolnshire Coast. On our summer operating days you can ride in one of our historic railway carriages, pulled by one of our historic diesel locomotives, or on certain days our steam locomotive "Jurassic". The diesel locos are based on designs for WW1 trench railways, which later powered transport for agriculture and industry throughout Lincolnshire and the wider world. Our steam locomotive "Jurassic" has just returned to steam (Aug 2017), and will be used on passenger trains on certain days. These dates will be listed on this site when confirmed.

We also have a collection of historic WW1 trench railway vehicles at the railway. These are demonstrated on gala days, and can normally be viewed on operating days. More details of the collection on the LCLR Historic Vehicles Trust page.

"Jurassic" is launched at annual "Classic Wheels" show

Sunday 17th Sept 2017

Our steam locomotive "Jurassic" was launched on scheduled passenger duties at the annual Skegness Water Leisure Park "Classic Wheels" car show. A record number of passengers were carried on the day. "Jurassic" will be in regular use for our 2018 season - check website for dates.

"Jurassic" returns to steam!

Wed 2nd Aug 2017. Our 0-6-0 Peckett loco had a very successful steam test on Wednesday 2nd August 2017 (pictured below leaving South Loop). It still requires work on its air braking system, hence the diesel loco at rear of this test train providing air for the brakes. To keep in touch with "Jurassics" progress check this website where we will announce its return to regular service! Until such time trains will be diesel hauled.
