2026 WW1 Weekend
12th & 13th September 2026

Early morning scene in the yard with our latest acquisition, WW1 petrol Motor Rail Simplex, from
Imperial War Museum at RAF Duxford, with our 3 class D wagons.

Class D`s in loop with "Wilton" and Ashover Lt Railway coach no 2, Nocton coach & "T3" on rear.

"Wilton" carried a poppy wreath throughout the event.

Stationmaster Calvin proudly showing his Expeditionary Force Canteen sign.

"Top & Tailed" class D train at Seathorne Bank station.

A well armed railman on the petrol Simplex loco.

Re-enforcements arriving at Seathorne Bank in the 1917 ambulance van.

The troops leave the platform on the way to their defence post.

Setting up their machine guns and mortar ready for a display to the passengers once the train has returned to Walls Lane.

The display has begun!

Later on a triple header brings the 3 class D`s and ambulance van to Seathorne Bank.

3 class P`s and a flat wagon with a requisitioned French wine barrel for perhaps drinking water?

Now seen crossing into Walls Lane loop.

A very relaxed looking LCLR volunteer - maybe it`s not water in the barrel!

Returning to the LCLR for her second WW1 w/e was "Trixie" from the Silverleaf Poplar Railway seen here pulling a class P ration wagon towards Seathorne Bank.

Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Copcutt for bringing Trixie to the LCLR again - the visitors loved her!

The LCLR would also like to say a big thank you to the members of the Hull Rifles and their friends
who helped make this an outstanding event - see you again in 2027!
There are more photos to come later
